Storied  Pictures: Samples

--Copyright 2008-2010  by Jerry Buley, Ph.D.

Some have told me to make "nice stories."  But, nice stories are boring.   I've tried

creating happy little abstract stories to go with my  pictures, but they become to much

like greeting cards or motivational poster.  I want my storied pictures to have some

bite to them.

Some say I am too cynical about relationships.  My relationships are fine, but what

I see in the relationships of others is very strange.  So, as the abstract painters say

when they  paint women that look awful, "I paint what I see."  I would not want to live

in their world.  But similarly, I would not want to live in the world I describe in my

abstract stories.

Sill others have said, don't be so political, but ultimately everything boils down to

politics.  You are either understand your karmic connection with everyone/everything

in the universe, or your don't.  If you do, you'll understand what I do.  If you don't,

you won't understand.  My goal, above all else, it to get you to spend more time

with my pictures.  If that doesn't happen, I've done something wrong.

Afterward, Orville,

Never known for making snap decisions,

Drove his truck home that day,

Never to drive it again.

Wondering whether Dorothy

Had decided to stay in Oz.
